CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

A.    BACKGROUND
Judging from geography, Indonesia is the largest archipelago country in Asia,        where the territorial sea wider than the mainland. With the wider territorial waters, of            course a lot      of the Natural Resources of the marine life that can be utilized. In this        report, I will review    how to change the ink squid into cooking flavoring (MSG).
Along with the development of science and technology, the human ability to ignore          productivity as quality. For example, we often find food products that contain        artificial           preservatives which contain harmful chemicals which, if the product is     constantly consumed by humans, are likely to spur the growth of cancer cells      quickly. Seeing these conditions, I do            research by taking samples of squid as           material testing. The squid (Loligo indica) is a species            of marine animal groups          that do Avetebrata protective adaptation "Morphology" is by way   of a discharge ink        to avoid the opponent's attack.
Besides squid meat containing vitamin B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B12, niacin,            folic acid,        and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K). On that ground I try to innovate to take advantage of   squid ink as a natural food flavoring ingredients that are not        harmful to human health.
All parts of the body relative squid edible. Maybe for some people, the legs (part   growled)          need to be removed, although many do not refuse. The only part of the            body of the squid        ink is removed, because it does not add to the attraction when if           come cooked appearance.       But no one thought earlier that the black squid ink turns            bringing extraordinary benefits, at      least in experimental animals. Based on research             conducted by Hiroki University in Japan,      squid ink can activate white blood cells         to fight tumors. The study was conducted on 15 rats that in the body there is a       malignant tumor disease. The mice were given an injection of      three doses of liquid ink squid or about 200 mg of squid ink. Apparently only three mice died, the             rest remain alive. In comparison, 15 other mice suffering from the same illness        were not given injections squid ink and all died within three weeks.
According to Dr. Russell Blaylock, author of Excitotoxins - The Taste That Kills, MSG is an       excitotoxin that stimulates chemicals and can kill brain cells. Blaylock    said that MSG can      aggravate degenerative neurological disorders such as            Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease,        autism and ADD (attention deficit disorder).
Here are some of the side effects and the specific disorders associated with MSG by         Blaylock:
            •Seizures
            •Nausea
            •Allergies
            •Rash
            •Asthma
            •Headache
Reactions to MSG can occur at any time, from immediately after consuming MSG            until a few days later. Children are more susceptible to adverse effects than adults.
B.     GOAL AND BENEFITS
1.      Fulfill eligibility certificate
2.      Squid ink capable of replacing MSG as a food flavoring.
3.      Squid ink also has an economical selling.
4.      Adding nutritional value of food.

CHAPTER II
HOW TO MAKE MSG FROM INK CALAMARI
A.    STEPS
During this time people assume that squid ink is not useful so much wasted in        the process. This is due to the black squid ink and smelled fishy. Based on the data      obtained that the squid ink can be useful as an aromatic flavoring dishes and seafood           as well as to replace MSG. Even more interesting than the squid ink is that it can        preventcancer.
The process is done as follows:
1.      The bag is separated from squid squid.
2.      Remove ink from his pocket.
3.      Combine squid ink with charcoal to reduce the black color in squid ink and reduce fishy odor.
4.      Further filtering performed using filter paper to separate the charcoal with squid ink. (To produce squid ink clearer this process be conducted repeatedly).
5.      The filtrate was boiled distillate.
6.      Processed in the form of pasta and ready for use..

B.     MATERIALS

1.      Squid_ink
Dark colored liquid contains grains of melanin or pigment black. Melanin is a natural melanoprotein containing 10-15 percent protein. Melanin binds proteins via sulfur-containing amino acids, namely cysteine.
In Italy, squid ink is used as a spice in cooking pasta. In Japan, squid ink bag (sepio melanin) that black is used as a preservative and to enhance flavor salted squid.
2.      Carbon Aktive

Carbon or activated charcoal is material in the form of granules or powder derived from carbon-containing materials such as coal, coconut shell, and so on. With      some processing, namely the activation process such as treatment with high pressure and temperature, can be obtained activated carbon that has a surface in space.
